Food Drive Recap

I just wanted to share a quick update with everyone on our food distribution this last Saturday (August 21). Seis Puentes was able to distribute 1,008 boxes of food to our community. That’s 16,128 lbs of food!!! WAY TO GO, TEAM!!

Special thanks to: Maria Weyrens (First Security Bank) who was able to procure the boxes, Laticia Reta who constantly proves herself as a huge asset and ally to Seis Puentes, Maria Touchstone who helped organize and advertise, Shara Brazear who helped advertise through the City of North Little Rock’s social media, and Will Hogg who never ceases to amaze me with his dedication to the Latinx community.

We also received some help from The Might Rib (a Facebook food blogger with a huge heart for the marginalized) to promote our event. Kevin Shalin (The Mighty Rib) was kind enough to get the word out about our event, and his post about Seis Puentes was shared 421 times. That’s 421 people talking about Seis Puentes and the good work we do! Mr. Shalin was also kind enough to give us a donation of $1,000.00. So, remember, folx: it pays to raise awareness about Seis Puentes.
